The iPad Air 3 and iPad Mini 5 are two handsets that will be released in 2017. Today we will compare them using the rumored specifications in order to give you an idea of what to expect and help you decide which tablet is best for your needs.
The iPad Air 3 will come with a 9.7-inch display that will support a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. On the other hand, the iPad Mini 5 is expected to come with a smaller Retina IPS display of 7.9-inch that will support a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels.
Processors & RAM
The iPad Air 3 is expected to be powered by an A9 processor that’s backed by 3GB of RAM. The iPad Mini 5 will sport the same processor, but it will be backed by 4GB of RAM. In other words, for multitasking purposes, the iPad Mini 5 would be better then the iPad Air 3.
If rumors prove to be right, the iPad Air 3 will come with a primary camera of 13MP that will feature LED flash and a secondary camera of 6MP. Unfortunately, the iPad Mini 5 will feature a weaker primary camera of only 8MP and a secondary camera of 1.2MP.
Unfortunately, we don’t have any information regarding the battery that will power the iPad Air 3. However, the iPad Mini 5 is expected to come with a huge battery of 5124 mAh, which will be able to keep the device “alive” for 16 hours.
The iPad Air 3 and iPad Mini 5 will come with a fingerprint scanner. The iPad Air 3 will have a Smart Connector feature, which will allow you to connect the tablet to accessories such as a keyboard, Apple Pen etc. Unfortunately, the iPad Mini 5 will only support the new Apple Pencil.
