The Apple press release which was held yesterday, revealed the iPhone 7 and the Apple Watch 2 but there was no talk about the highly anticipated iPad Mini 5. However, there is still time for Apple to announce the iPad’s launch. Last year, the iPad Mini 4 was announced in September so many Apple device users expect to see the iPad Mini 5 sometime this month.

The iPad Mini 5 is expected to sport a thinner body than the previous generation and latest gen software. There are some rumors though, that state that the upcoming device will actually be named the iPad Pro Mini and that it will continue the iPad Mini line.

Supposedly the upcoming iPad, regardless of its name, will sport a smaller battery and two cameras: an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 1.2 MP secondary front one. It’s also speculated that it will be powered by a A9 processor from Apple and that it will come with iOS 10 straight out of the box. Naturally, the latest gen chipset and OS will offer improved graphics and overall performance.

Another interesting rumor about the upcoming iPad is that it will come in several native storage variants: 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB. At some point, it was speculated that the device will come with 256 GB of internal storage space which is huge, but it’s also something that is needed because Apple doesn’t offer options to expand a device’s memory so that might be a bit inconvenient for those people who like to download a lot of movies or generally use a lot of apps.

Other rumors about the device state that it will be waterproof, that it will lack a headphone jack and that it will sport a 3D touch button. These are basically the same anticipated features for the iPhone 7 line.
