Xiaomi has released the Redmi Note 3 in January 2016, while the Redmi Note 4 was brought last month with small improvements. Today we will compare these two smartphones and let you decide which one of them suits your needs better.

Designs

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 measures 150x76x8.7mm and weights 164 grams. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is slimmer and heavier as it measures 151x76x8.4mm and weights 175 grams. Both devices have a full metal body with rounded edges and a fingerprint scanner below the rear camera, but the Note 4 has wider radio antenna strips.

Displays

Both devices come with an IPS LCD display of 5.5-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, but the Note 3 offers a higher pixel density of 403ppi, compared to 401ppi, which supported by the screen of the Note 4.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 features a Qualcomm MSM8956 Snapdragon 650 chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.4GHz and a dual-core Cortex A72 processor clocked at 1.8GHz, an Adreno 510 graphics card and 2GB of 3GB of RAM. The Note 4 is powered by a Mediatek MT6797 Helio X20 deca-core 2.1 GHz processor backed by Mali-T880 MP4 graphics and it also offers two variants of RAM.



Storages

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has been released in two internal storage variants of 16GB and 32GB, which you can expand up to 256GB using a microSD card. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes in two internal storage variants of 16GB and 64GB, which are also expandable up to 256GB.

Cameras

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 sports a primary camera of 16MP that features dual-LED flash, phase detection autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, HDR, panorama, face detection and a secondary camera of 5MP. For some reason, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has been released with a weaker primary camera of 13MP that supports dual-LED flash, phase detection autofocus, face detection, geo-tagging, HDR, panorama, touch focus and a secondary camera of 5MP.

Batteries

Both devices come with non-removable batteries. The Note 3 houses a 4000 mAh battery, while its successor has a slightly bigger battery of 4100mAh, which handles the more powerful processor.
