The OnePlus 3 has been released in June 2016, while the LG X5 is expected to hit the stores this month. Today we will compare these two smartphones and let you decide if you either want to purchase the third generation OnePlus or wait for the arrival of the mid-range LG X5.
The OnePlus 3 measures 152.7×74.7×7.4mm and weights 158 grams. Its design was changed completely over the previous OnePlus 2, as the Chinese manufacturer has ditched the Sandstone Black texture in favor of full metal, and it’s not exaggerated to say that the OnePlus 3 looks similar to an iPhone or a HTC flagship, because it features two horizontal thin lines on its back. On the other hand, the LG X5 is slimmer and lighter as it measures 151.6×76.9×7.2mm and weights 133 grams. This phone will look cheap, because LG has opted for a plastic rear panel.
The OnePlus 3 has an optic AMOLED display of 5.5-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 401 ppi and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The LG X5 comes with an IPS LCD display of 5.5-inch that supports a lower resolution of 1280×720 pixels at 267 ppi.
Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM
The OnePlus 3 features a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 chipset, a dual-core Kryo processor clocked at 2.15GHz and a dual-core Kryo processor clocked at 1.6GHz, an Adreno 530 graphics card and 6GB of RAM. The LG X5 is expected to come with a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz that will be backed by 2GB. Unfortunately, we’re not sure yet what chipset and graphics card this device will feature.
The OnePlus 3 has been released with an internal storage of 64GB, but you can’t expand it as the handset doesn’t feature a microSD card slot. On the other hand, the LG X5 will be released with an internal storage of 16GB which you will be able to expand it up to 32GB using a microSD card.
The OnePlus 3 sports a primary camera of 16MP that features phase detection autofocus, LED flash, OIS, geo-tagging, face detection, touch focus, panorama, HDR and a secondary camera of 8MP. The LG X5 will come with a weaker primary camera of 13MP that will feature LED flash, autofocus, geo-tagging, HDR, panorama, touch focus, face detection and a secondary camera of 5MP.
The OnePlus 3 is powered by a non-removable battery of 3000 mAh which is better than the removable battery of 2800 mAh that the LG X5 will come with.
