If you’re a Macbook fan, you’re probably looking forward to the release of the Macbook Pro 2016. It has been expected that this newest model would be released during the Apple-hosted Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which would take place on June 13 to 17. However, there are reports saying that this probably won’t happen; KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, for example, says that the Macbook Pro 2016 would probably be released in the last quarter of 2016.
If this report turns out to be true, it would definitely be disappointing to Macbook aficionados. But there’s no need to worry since the last quarter of the year is just a few months away, which means you don’t need to wait that long to see the latest Macbook model. The long wait would also be worth it since the Macbook Pro 2016 is said to be packed with loads of exciting features, such as:
- Thin and lightweight body
Apple was one of the first companies that adopted the “thinner and lighter are better” mindset, and they seem keep this going with the Macbook Pro 2016. It will reportedly sport the butterfly mechanism keyboard (which results to significantly thinner keys) and metal injection molded hinges that were first seen in the 12-inch MacBook. These features will allow it to be light and ultra-thin — a huge plus for those who need to bring their laptops everywhere.
- OLED display touch bar
According to rumors, the Macbook Pro 2016 will have an OLED display touch bar above its keyboard. We don’t yet have details on how exactly this touch bar would work, but it’s expected to replace the traditional physical function keys and maybe even allow users to add custom shortcuts.
- Touch ID
Fingerprint scanning has been available in iPhones for some time now, but it’s the first time that the technology would be available in an Apple laptop.
- Longer battery life
There are reports saying that the Macbook Pro 2016 will have a battery that can last for 10 hours. If these is true, the laptop would definitely be appreciated by those who work outside the house or office and can’t always find an outlet to recharge their device.
- USB Type-C connection
USB Type-C technology has become increasingly popular because it’s small, allows for faster charging and data transfer, and has the same type of connector on both ends.
