Today we’re going to talk about the Huawei P8 device, which was released in April 2015 and its successor, the Huawei P9 flagship that’s expected to be released by the end of this month and which comes with an impressive dual camera on its back.

Designs

The Huawei P8 measures 144.9×72.1×6.4mm and weights 144 grams. On the other hand, the Huawei P9 is thicker, as it measures 145×70.9x7mm, but it has the same weight. Their designs are almost identical, meaning that they have a metal body with a horizontal strip at the top of their back, where the rear camera is located, only that the new model has also a fingerprint scanner under the strip, right in the middle.

Displays

The Huawei P8 handset has an IPS-NEO LCD display of 5.2-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 424 ppi and it’s protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Huawei P9 has the same display size and resolution, but it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The Huawei P8 houses a HiSilicon Kirin 930/935 chipset with an octa-core processor formed from a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 2GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, a Mali-T628 MP4 graphics card and 3GB of RAM. The Huawei P9 has a HiSilicon Kirin 955 chipset, an octa-core processor formed from a quad-core Cortex A72 processor clocked at 2.5GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.8GHz, a Mali-T880 MP4 graphics card and 3GB or 4GB of RAM.



Storages

The Huawei P8 has been released in two internal storage variants of 16GB (this variant is available in Titanium Grey and Mystic Champagne colors) and 64GB (Carbon Black and Prestige Gold colors). The Huawei P9 comes in two internal storage variants of 32GB (the variant with 3GB of RAM) and 64GB (the variant with 4GB of RAM), but both variants come in colors such as Ceramic White, Haze Gold, Rose Gold, Titanium Grey, Mystic Silver and Prestige Gold. Moreover, both the P8 and P9 support microSD cards with capacities up to 128GB for expanding the internal memory.

Cameras

The Huawei P8 sports a primary camera of 13MP that features dual-LED flash, OIS, autofocus, panorama, HDR, face detection, touch focus and a secondary camera of 8MP. The Huawei P9 smartphones comes with a dual 12MP primary camera that supports autofocus, dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama and a secondary camera of 8MP.

Batteries

Both devices feature non-removable batteries and their capacities are 2680 mAh (P8) and 3000 mAh (P9).
