LG G3 Marshmallow software update has already been availed on Verizon.
However, other carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and U.S. Cellular have yet to roll out this operating system.
In addition to Verizon users, the update has also been availed to all users of this LG G3 smartphone using the unlocked and international versions. The update is currently rolling out via OTA to these variants.
For those using this smartphone on carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and U.S. Cellular, there is some good news for you as the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update seems to have passed out. Here are the details about the LG G3 Marshmallow update on the aforementioned carriers.
AT&T has not been very busy in the Marshmallow updates, with only a handful of devices running on this carrier currently having received the update. The carrier has not mentioned a word on when the LG G3 Marshmallow update will show up. The last time this device received an update was back in 2015, which was basically an update to Android Lollipop.
Despite updating a number of handsets with the Android Marshmallow OS, T-Mobile has yet to push the same update to LG G3 units. At the moment, this device’s update is stuck at the Magenta development stage, but the carrier is soon going to get into testing, hopefully. T-Mobile had an initial list of 18 devices to push the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to; however, only eight have been successful. LG G3 is still on the waiting list.
Sprint has been doing well in Android Marshmallow update race, coming in with the update on a variety of its devices, including Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+, Galaxy Note 4, among others. However, it has lagged behind when it comes to this 2014 LG flagship. In fact, the last time the LG G3 saw an update was back in November 2015, but this was related to Android security.
At the moment, Sprint hasn’t mentioned a clear date as to when this update will be showing up on LG G3 devices.
The latest version of operating system for LG G3 users on U.S. Cellular is Android 5.0.1 Lollipop. Just like most of the carriers, there is no official communication from this carrier with regards to the Marshmallow update.
With Verizon having begun the race for the LG G3 Marshmallow update, it won’t be long before the above-mentioned carriers start coming in with the same update. Even though the details for the release dates aren’t clear on these carriers, the fact that a competitor is already pushing the update might make them rush the update a little bit.
