Huawei has released its P8 smartphone back in April 2015 and according to rumors, a successor will arrive in April 2016. We’ve collected all the information we could find on the internet and based on the known details, we’ll make a comparison between the two devices.

Displays

The Huawei P8 comes with an IPS-NEO LCD display of 5.2-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 424 ppi and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. On the other hand, the Huawei P9 is expected to come with a similar IPS-NEO LCD display with the same size and resolution, but it will be protected by the newer Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The Huawei P8 has been released with a HiSilicon Kirin 930 chipset which houses an octa-core processor formed from a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 2GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, a Mali-T628 MP4 graphics card and 3GB of RAM. The Huawei P9 will have a HiSilicon Kirin 950 chipset with an octa-core processor formed from a quad-core Cortex A72 processor clocked at 2.3GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.8GHz, a Mali-T880 MP4 graphics card and 3GB of RAM.



Storages

The Huawei P8 has been released in two internal storage variants of 16GB and 64GB, which you can expand up to 128GB using a microSD card. According to rumors, the Huawei P9 will have similar storage specifications as the Huawei P8.

Cameras

The Huawei P8 sports a primary camera of 13MP that features OIS, autofocus, dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, HDR, panorama, face detection, touch focus and a secondary camera of 8MP. On the other hand, the Huawei P9 is expected to be released with two primary cameras of 12 or 13MP on the rear side that will offer OIS, dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, panorama, HDR, face detection and the secondary camera will be 8MP.

Batteries

The Huawei P8 houses a non-removable battery of 2680 mAh, but it seems that the company has decided to increase the capacity of the next flagship, which will support 3900 mAh and will be non-removable as well.
