HTC Desire Eye Will Be Upgraded To Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, While The Xiaomi Mi Note Is Receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update

HTC is one of Google’s OEMs and when a new Android version is out, the manufacturer is one of the privileged companies to receive it, so it can send it to its flagships. The One M9 and M8 have started to receive the 6.0 Marshmallow update, and the list of smartphones that will be updated to this version contains many “Desire” models, which are part of the mid-range family. It’s interesting that a mid-range device that will be updated to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow is the Desire Eye, according to a leak. On the other hand, today, Xiaomi has started to roll out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to its Mi Note.

HTC, the creator of the Nexus 9 tablet for Google, has already provided Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates for its most important devices, being ahead of companies such as Samsung, Sony, Lenovo and Huawei. The owners of an One M9 from many countries and connected to various carriers, have started to receive the Android 6.0 update, while the One A9 was the first HTC mid-range device to come with this OS out of the box.

The Desire Eye is another mid-rage device and it was launched in November 2014 with Android 4.4.4 KitKat, but in the meantime, it was upgraded to 5.0.2 Lollipop. According to a recent leak provided by @LlabTooFeR, this smartphone is not on the list of HTC devices that will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which means that HTC will skip this update, and instead, it will upgrade it directly to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. If this will happen, HTC will push out this update in the last quarter of 2016, which will bring security improvements, new emoji characters and HTC Sense 7.0 UI.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow Runs On The Xiaomi Mi Note

Starting from today, the owners of the Xiaomi Mi Note are starting to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, after the Chinese smartphone-maker has completed the beta testing for this model. GizChina said that the Xiaomi Mi Note has received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based MIUI 7, but it’s not sure if this is a development ROM, or the final one. According to earlier reports, Xiaomi has included other devices such as Mi 3, Mi 4 to beta test the software and the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update might be available for them in short time. Unfortunately, there is no release date for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow on these models.
