Today we’re going to talk about the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A3 (2016) handsets that have been released by Samsung. We agree that the Galaxy “A” series is not as popular as the “S” series, but we think that these devices come with some decent features and you should check them out.

Designs

The Galaxy A3 measures 130.1×65.5×6.9mm and weights only 110 grams. On the other hand, the Galaxy A3 2016 measures 134.5×65.2×7.3mm and weights 22 grams more than its predecessor. The Galaxy A3 2016 has also a back panel that is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The available colors for the A3 2015 model are Pearl White, Midnight Black, Platinum Silver, Soft Pink, Light Blue and Champagne Gold, while the 2016 version, released in December 2015, comes in Black, White, Gold and Pink colors.

Displays

The Galaxy A3 features a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display that supports a resolution of 540×960 pixels at 245 ppi and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The Galaxy A3 2016 comes with a bigger display of 4.7-inches that supports a resolution of 720×1280 pixels at 312 ppi and is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.



Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The Galaxy A3 handset comes with a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, an Adreno 306 graphics card and 1.5GB RAM. Storages

Both the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A3 2016 have an internal storage of 16GB. They also offer a microSD card slot, but the Galaxy A3 supports microSD cards of up to 64, while the maximum expandable memory size for the Galaxy A3 2016 is 128GB.

Cameras

The Galaxy A3 sports a primary camera of 8MP (f/2.4, 31mm) that has autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection and the secondary camera is 5MP. The Galaxy A3 2016 comes with a more powerful primary camera of 13MP (f/1.9) that has also autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus and face detection. The front camera is identical.

Batteries

The Galaxy A3 has a non-removable battery of 1900 mAh, but Samsung added 400mAh of extra juice for Galaxy A3 2016’s battery.
