After the Huawei Mate 8 was unveiled in November 2015, it went on sale in early December 2015 in China. The phone was sold out in many Chinese retailers right from the very first day. On the other hand, the Xiaomi manufacturer is expected to announce its latest Mi5 device sometime in February 2016.

The Huawei Mate 8 comes with a 6-inch IPS-NEO LCD display that features a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 368 ppi.

According to GSMArena, the upcoming Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to feature an IPS LCD display of 5.3-inch that will support a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 554 ppi.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The Huawei Mate 8 has a HiSilicon Kirin 950 chipset, an octa-core processor formed from a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.8GHz and quad-core Cortex A72 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, a Mali-T880 MP4 graphics cards. At the same time, the device comes in two RAM variants of 3GB and 4GB.



The Xiaomi Mi5 is rumored to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, an octa-core processor formed from two quad-core processors clocked at 1.8GHz and 2.2GHz, an Adreno 530 graphics cards and 4GB of RAM.

Storages

The Huawei Mate 8 has been released in two storage variants of 32GB and 64GB, but it also features a microSD card slot that supports a card up to 128GB. According to GSMArena, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be released in two storage variants of 16GB and 64GB and it will not support a card slot for expanding the storage.

Cameras

The Huawei Mate 8 features a primary camera of 16MP that features dual LED flash, touch focus, dual LED, OIS, geo-tagging, smile/face detections, panorama and a secondary camera of 8MP. The Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to feature a 16MP primary camera that will feature OIS, dual LED flash, geo-tagging, panorama, smile/face detections, touch focus and a secondary camera of only 6MP.

Batteries

Huawei Mate 8 comes with a bigger battery of 4000 mAh compared to the 3030 mAh battery that the Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to come with. Keep in mind that both batteries are non-removable, which means that you will not be able to replace them.
