We have some good news for Asus Zenfone 2 owners. Asus has finally announced which Android powered devices will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software update in the near future and the list includes the ZenFone 2 device.

Asus made the official announcement Monday, on November 16, 2015 on its official forum. Along with the ZenFone 2, Asus also announced other devices that will receive the latest Android OS. So, the other Asus devices that will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update soon are: Zenfone 2 Deluxe, Zenfone 2 Selfie, PadFone S and ZenFone 2 Laser.

So if your device is not running properly on Android Lollipop, then you should get ready and update it to Android 6.0 Marshmallow as soon as the OTA update will be available.

Asus did confirm that the mentioned devices will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update, but they didn’t give a potential time when this will happen. Rumors say that these devices will most likely get updated to the latest Android OS version sometime Q1 2016.

At the same time, the Asus announcement didn’t confirm what features the Android 6.0 Marshmallow will bring to the ZenFone 2 devices. However, the developers from Asus announced on the forum that they will come with more information about the update soon enough. As soon as we will notice something posted on the Asus forums, we will let you know.

We remind you that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes with many new features such as Google Now, the ability to deny/approve permissions to applications, improved battery life via Doze app and many more. We remind you that once the OTA update is released, it will take a while until you will receive it on your ZenFone 2 device. This will depend on the mobile carrier you are connected to and the country you live in.
