The One M7 is over two years old, so its manufacturer is no longer offering official software support, which means that you will rely on custom ROM. And if you decided to install Google Plus Android ROM, which was created by santod040 from the XDA Developer Forum, then below, we’ll reach you how to do that.

Before installing the Google Plus Android 5.1.1 Lollipop custom ROM, root your device, but you must have a GSM model only, and if you don’t want to brick it, you’d better check the device model by going to Settings>About phone>model number.

Also, you need to clear memory and we recommend you to back up your important data using an application such as Clockwork Mod (CWM) Recovery/ TWRP. You will need a computer on which you’ll install the necessary USB drivers and the One M7 smartphone must have over 80 percent battery left.

Steps

You will need to search on the internet for the Google Plus Edition Android 5.1.1 Lollipop custom ROM (we suggest you to download it from androidfilehost), and you will need to download Google Apps from wiki.cyanogenmod.org.

Connect your One M7 to your computer using a USB cable, then copy the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop zip file and Google Apps files to your phone’s SD card memory. Copy the boot.img file to the android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools directory, then turn of your phone and disconnect it from your computer.

Enter the Bootloader mode on your smartphone by holding the Volume down and Power buttons. Then, on your computer go to the android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools directory and open Command prompt. Here, you will type in: fastboot flash boot boot.img and you will press enter.

Next, type fastboot reboot then press enter and from the options you’ll see on the screen, select BOOTLOADER to enter the Recovery Mode. You will use the Volume keys for navigation an the power button to select options, and while you’re in recovery mode, you will need to clear your phone’s memory by selecting wipe data (or factory reset). The cache memory will be cleared if you select wipe cache partition.
